Want a day out wandering one or two local villages to see what you can find? Here's a few recommendations though of course all local towns have plenty of interesting independent shops and eateries well worth a visit.
Useful resources :

-
Aberfoyle - take a stroll to the enchanted Doon Hill & Fairy Knowe, the legendary home of the fairies. Stop for a pint in the Forth Inn or wonderful cakes at Maggies Kitchen

-
Doune - visit Doune Castle, famous as the setting for Monty Python and the Holy Grail. We're not sure if they still provide coconut shells for visitors. Or perhaps the Castle is more familiar to you as Castle Leoch, the Clan MacKenzie stronghold in the Outlander TV series? Another of our personal favourite places is the Scottish Antique & Arts Centre - an Aladdin's Cave of collectables with something for every pocket. You will spend literally hours wandering around.

-
Callander - a bustling town with lots of shops -try the Spirit of Callander, purveyor of malt whisky and craft gins. Or visit Hamilton's Toy Museum to find childhood toys from yesteryear. If you fancy a swim then there's the Mclaren Leisure Centre.
