Walking from Cobleland Campsite

CobblelandtoBlackBull.png

Lovely walk to the pub approximately 2km.  Turn right up the hill after leaving Cobleland.  Past the pink house on the left there is a path called Butlers Walk with a large stone at the start of it.  Take this left and continue through the woods until you pop out on the Gartmore House Estate Road.  You will see a house with a small loch at the side of it.  Turn right up towards Gartmore House.  You will pass a walled garden on your left and a signpost for Green Routes, keep going.  Don’t continue into the car park for Gartmore House, turn right and walk past the buildings on the left.  Don’t walk past the white cottage.  Turn left up the hill.  You will pass in between a stables on the right and a wood store and a large structure which contains the boiler and chipper for Gartmore House on your left. Continue up this hilly path until you pop out at the Archway.  The football field is on your right and houses are on your left.  Continue down the Main St and the pub can be found in the village square.

It is well worth the effort and coming home is much easier as it’s downhill.  You can also cycle this route - the homeward journey is a blast especially if you’ve had a couple of drinks!
