We offer a mixture of traditional Scottish and contemporary dishes, lighter meals and pub classics - something for everyone whether you're out for a quick bite with family and friends or a special occasion.

Dogs are welcome to join you while you eat in the bar, the Heritage Rooms, our Green Room and of course our beer garden (our main restaurant is dog free). If you are bringing a dog, whilst you eat, do let us know in advance so we can seat you appropriately (email/phone). Reservations are strongly recommended.

Our bar offers a range of draught Scottish beers and ales, a great selection of gin, spirits and whiskies, as well as bottled international beers, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Come in and ask about our guest ales, try our very own Black Bull Lager or a local whisky or two. In the winter, cosy up next to the roaring fire and enjoy chatting with the locals.

Ossian, Son of Fingal, was a legendary warrior from the 3rd century. His grave stone can be seen north west of Perth in the 'Sma Glen', of which Sir Walter Scott wrote.... "In this still glen, remote from men, Sleeps Ossian, in the narrow glen".

This superb ale has a pale, golden coloured brew with a full bodied fruity flavour with distinct nutty tomes and a hoppy, zesty, orange aroma, derived from First Gold and Cascade hops.

The summer ale is bright and golden, with citrus aromas and tropical flavours, leading to a spicy, hoppy and creamy finish. Waulkmill bay is our tidal bay, situated in the Southwest of mainland Orkney, between Kirkwall and Orphir. When the tide is out, the bay has one of the biggest beaches on Orkney, a spectacular stretch of sand, stretching out to Scapa Flow and it slips almost entirely away from view, when the sea claims its ‘secret’ bay back.

Dam Fyne Pale Ale is bursting with Centennial and Motueka hops, creating a refreshing blend of citrus and tropical notes, so you can enjoy a delicious pint and give to a great cause!

£5 from the sale of each cask will go to the Argyll Beaver Centre to aid in their hard work across the year – you can also grab a pint at one of their festival events.

Blond beer, lively lemon and lime aromas, then stone fruit flavours with biscuit malt and a creamy finish. This brew uses the innovative New Zealand Hop Motueka. This hop alongside a touch of biscuity Vienna malt offers flavours lemon meringue.

Orkney is not just an island but an archipelago of 70 islands. There is over 500 miles of coastline with constant waves breaking onto our many beaches. Life is essentially one long beach party as we watch the waves coming in.

Lia Fail is Gaelic for "Stone of Destiny", upon which the kings of Scotland were crowned. In 1296, against the wishes of the Scots, the Stone was taken by Edward I to England. Rightfully returned in 1996, it can be found in Edinburgh Castle, although many believe the stone never left Scotland, and that the real Lia Fail is in a secret hiding place somewhere.

Lia Fail is a dark, robust, full bodied beer with a deep malty taste, smooth texture and a hoppy aroma. The beer is rich with a well balanced and satisfying sweetness with chocolate notes. Truly a beer fit for a King.

Long Strides is Orkney Brewery’s Arctic Ale celebrating the life of John Rae, Orkney's Victorian Artic Hero!

Long Strides is a golden pale ale (ABV 4.4%) with hop characteristics of mango, pineapple and apricot in the aroma with flavours of tropical fruits, lemon and pine to follow.

Dark Island is an iconic beer. A gold standard-bearer for crafted premium Scottish Ales. It almost needs no introduction.

It offers ripe, fruity and roast coffee aromas with flavours of dark chocolate, dates and nuts, from the combination of roasted malts and robust hops.

A tribute to the finest fictional sailor to ever sail Loch Fyne, Hurricane Jack is a well-balanced blonde ale showcasing fruity Cascade and Amarillo hops on top of a pale malt base.

Man O' Hoy is a deep golden ale brewed with Mosaic and Amarillo hops for flavours of citrus and mango. It is creamy and hoppy with a long bitter fruity finish. Named of course, after Orkney’s famous Old Man O' Hoy.

Cliff Edge is a brilliant bronze beer with a tantalising trio of American hops. Pushing you to the edge of your senses, with an intense impact of piney and spicy fruit flavours before dropping to a crash of bitter zestiness.

Ptarmigan is a traditional bitter, pouring pale gold. Big aromas of dried fruit and citrus peel upfront are built upon a biscuit, malty base. Ptarmigan’s clean, dry palate carries a pleasant bitterness and lingering aftertaste.
